My name is Brittany and I make art.

I’ve always loved drawing & sketching as a kid, but it wasn’t until I was an adult that I actually learned how to paint. In 2008, I landed a job, basically my first job, at Central Market. I was 18 with only high school art classes under my belt but it was enough to get my foot in the door. I have now been with that same company for more than 15 years. I honestly don’t know where the time went. I guess that saying is true— “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I never, ever imagined staying put for so long but I’m constantly being challenged and exploring different techniques, so I suppose that keeps things fresh. I’ve learned literally all that I know artistically from this job— I’m not ashamed to say that!

Along the way, I’ve been fortunate enough to network with some amazing people who have given me opportunities I wouldn’t have thought possible. In 2014, my wedding artwork was featured in 360 West Weddings Magazine and was later commissioned to do chalkboard backdrops for a Valentine’s photoshoot the same magazine. 817 Home Fall 2019 issue featured one of my commissioned chalkboards. Voyage Magazine featured my artwork in 2020. I’ve met and worked with many awesome business owners and made some unlikely friendships along the way.

In more recent months, I have stepped away from freelance work. With my full-time job at Central Market consuming a lot of my time and energy, I chose to put freelance work on hold to focus more on my own well-being and family. It’s so important to find a healthy balance between work and home life. That being said, I still do commissioned work but I’m more selective as to what I take on. I do miss the relationships I built through freelance work but I will resume when the time feels right.
